Gizmotronn

Hey! I'm Gizmotronn, but Sam or Gizmo works just fine. I've been doing concept art and illustration for about 6 years, almost entirely self-taught with two years of formal Game Art study on top. Everything I know came from personal experience and trial and error; tutorials were never really my thing.

I'm deeply inspired by other forms of media, music and film especially. My best work tends to come after absorbing something I love. Illustration has been a passion since I was young, and when I got into 10cc, it grew my love for the craft even more. I started drawing musicians hoping to find other fans and maybe get people to listen. That spirit (art as a way to share what you love) is still a big part of how I work.

Outside of commissions, I'm currently working on two solo comic projects. I love creating characters and building worlds from scratch. I consider myself an intermediate artist with a lot still to learn, but I'm proud of how far I've come and I'm always trying to take something new from every piece I make.

Outside of art: I'm into music from the 70s to 90s, especially 10cc, Wax, Godley & Creme, and Jamiroquai. My favourite show is Breaking Bad. I've rewatched it four or five times because Vince Gilligan's writing genuinely inspires me. I also love Invincible, The Boys, Mob Psycho 100, and Cowboy Bebop. Games-wise: Pokémon White 2 and Yakuza 0.

I'd describe myself as fairly funny and laid-back once you get to know me. I'm also told I'm extremely handsome and muscular (don't ask for a source on that). I'm incredibly grateful to be part of the L7 team! "Whatever happens, happens."
