Converts a player's Roblox avatar into a fully rigged, skinned humanoid character built for high-fidelity customization - deep appearance editing closer to a modern AAA character creator than a traditional Roblox avatar.

The framework serves as the foundation for immersive roleplay and simulation experiences.

The avatar problem

Roblox avatars are expressive, recognisable and deeply personal to players, which is exactly why replacing them with generic character models in a roleplay experience feels wrong. But the standard avatar is also built for a blocky aesthetic and offers almost nothing in the way of the fine-grained appearance control that modern roleplay and simulation players expect.

Persona-Forge resolves the tension by converting a player's existing avatar into a fully rigged, skinned humanoid rather than discarding it. The character that results is recognisably theirs and supports the depth of customisation found in a modern character creator.

Conversion and rigging

Conversion reads the player's avatar description, resolves the assets it references, and rebuilds the character on a skeleton suited to skinned deformation. The rig is built for animation quality rather than for parity with the classic avatar, which is what allows natural shoulder, hip and spine movement instead of visibly separated limbs.

The process runs automatically and needs no input from the player. From their side they join and look like themselves, only rendered at a fidelity the platform does not usually reach.

Appearance depth

On top of the converted base, Persona-Forge exposes the controls players actually ask for: skin tone, facial structure, complexion detail including freckles and scars, hair and facial hair, and body proportion. Clothing is layered rather than being a single flat texture, so garments sit on the body correctly and combine the way real clothing does.

Every parameter is a value on the character rather than a distinct asset, which keeps the combinatorial space manageable. Two players can share a base and look nothing alike without either of them needing a bespoke model.

Cost and consistency

Higher-fidelity characters cost more to render, and a server full of them is a genuine performance concern. Characters are built at multiple detail levels, with the expensive skin and material work reserved for characters near the camera, and distant characters falling back to a simplified representation.

The framework is intended as shared infrastructure across L7's roleplay and simulation titles rather than as a feature of one game, so a player's character reads consistently wherever they encounter it.
