Chapter 2▶ PLAY NOW

The Dark World of the Computer Lab

The second chapter's Dark World is born from a school computer lab, a neon-drenched digital cityscape ruled by Queen, a self-proclaimed genius whose plan to make humans happy involves flooding the Light World with addictive technology.

Queen's domain is slick, absurd, and deeply corporate. Swatchlings run manufacturing, Tasque Manager enforces order with terrifying efficiency, and the city itself runs on a kind of twisted consumerist logic. Every resident either loves Queen sincerely or is too terrified to admit otherwise.

Susie and Ralsei infiltrate Queen's mansion while Kris navigates the city. Noelle Holiday, Kris's classmate, is pulled into the Dark World and becomes central to the chapter's emotional arc, as Queen attempts to use Noelle's kindness as a weapon.

The most memorable encounter: Spamton G. Spamton, a desperate "neo" form of a former advertising marionette, offers a deal at the bottom of a junkyard. What he actually wants, and what he has lost, forms the heart of Chapter 2's tragedy.

The Dark Fountain is sealed. Queen retreats. But in the crawlspace between the walls of the school, something has been left behind.

Chapter 2 in DRTD

Chapter 2 dramatically expands DRTD's roster and mechanical complexity. The Cyber World aesthetic brings electric-type damage, status effects (static shock, freeze, data corruption), and the first multi-phase mini-boss encounters.

Queen's enemies are fast, numerous, and often self-replicating. Swatchlings respawn, Tasque Manager's pets rush in packs, and the city maps feature teleport nodes that bypass normal lane pathing. Adaptability is rewarded heavily.

Spamton NEO is the hardest boss encounter in the first two chapters. His attack patterns shift between four phases, each with different weaknesses. Units with burst damage and stun effects are essential.

Trash ZoneThe Cyber World's garbage district. Winding path through discarded data. Enemies gain speed boosts from scrap piles scattered across the map.
Queen's MansionThree-floor vertical map with elevator mechanics. Enemies enter from multiple floors simultaneously, requiring vertical coverage strategies.
The Great BoardA giant game board where enemies move in discrete steps. Timing-based unit placement is critical, since each enemy only takes damage on the squares it stops at.
Cyber City StreetsWide open lanes with teleport pads that randomly reroute enemies. Forces constant adaptation mid-wave.
standard
SwatchlingColor-coded servants of Swatch. Each color variant has a different resistance type: red resists fire, blue resists ice, etc.
standard
TasqueCat-shaped enforcers. Extremely fast. Travel in synchronized packs of three and share a HP pool.
standard
AddisonAdvertising-themed humanoids. Drop currency when defeated, temporarily boosting your income for the next wave.
elite
Tasque ManagerThe disciplinarian of the Cyber World. Buffs all Tasques on screen and can call in emergency reinforcements mid-wave.
boss
QueenRuler of the Cyber World. Phase 1: electro-shock AoE. Phase 2: deploys drone artillery. Phase 3: absorbs defeated enemies to heal.
boss
Spamton NEOA big shot, with strings attached. Four-phase encounter with randomized attack selection. Each phase removes one weakness from the previous.
SECRET BOSSBerdly (Hyperlink Blocked)Noelle's academic rival, corrupted by Queen's technology into a "champion of the internet." Berdly fights with escalating intellect buffs, so the longer the fight goes, the stronger he gets. Requires burst damage strategies to defeat before his buffs become unmanageable.
