Missions that are not a list
Authored quests are finite and identical for everyone. Once a player has done them, the content is spent, and every player has the same experience of the same world.
Project Odyssey looks at generating missions and storylines shaped by the specific player and the current state of the world.
Structure and coherence
Purely generated narrative tends to be incoherent, while purely authored narrative does not scale. The research is on generating within authored structure: templates with real dramatic shape, populated with situation-specific detail.
That keeps generated content recognisably a story rather than a sequence of unrelated objectives.
Consequences that persist
A choice only matters if the world remembers it. Persistent consequence means outcomes change the world in ways that are still visible later.
This connects directly to Project Echo and Project Atlas, since persistent consequence requires both characters that remember and a world that can hold the change.
