1. Who this covers
This handbook covers the people who run the studio: the founders and managers, Human Resources, and moderation leadership. It explains how we make decisions about people, players and data, and the standards we hold ourselves to while doing it.
We publish it because the people affected by those decisions, applicants, staff, players and parents, deserve to know how they are made.
2. How decisions are made
- Clear ownership. Each game has a Project Director who owns its creative and production decisions. Studio-wide decisions sit with the founders.
- In writing. Decisions that affect someone's work, pay, access or standing are recorded, with the reason.
- Hear both sides. Before a decision about a person, we gather the facts and give them a chance to respond, except where urgent action is needed to protect people or the studio.
- No conflicts. Anyone with a personal stake in a decision steps back from it, and someone else makes the call.
- Least access. People are given the access their role needs, and no more.
3. Hiring fairly
Every role we are recruiting for is listed on our open roles page, and every application is reviewed by a person.
- Applications are judged on skill, effort and fit for the role. Background, identity, nationality and where you live are never reasons to turn someone down.
- Applicants must be at least 16. The form says so up front, and an application from someone younger is declined automatically.
- Anyone under 18 who joins needs a parent or guardian's written consent before any work starts.
- Many roles need no prior experience, and portfolios can include unfinished work.
- When applications are paused, the open roles page says so rather than collecting applications nobody will read.
Spam, abusive or fraudulent applications can lead to someone being blocked from applying again.
4. Onboarding and offboarding
New team members sign their agreement before they start, and confirm two-factor authentication before they are given access to source files or tools. Their first task is fully scoped, with a fee where the role is paid, a deadline and acceptance criteria.
When someone leaves, for any reason, their access is removed on their last day, studio materials are returned or deleted, and anything they are owed for accepted work is still honoured. Conduct-related separations follow a documented process that includes hearing from the person involved.
5. Moderation standards
Our moderators look after players in our games and community spaces. The principles are the same as our Cyber Security division's:
- Evidence before action. Every action above a warning is backed by a record of what happened, when and where.
- Proportionate. Most problems end with a warning. Mutes, kicks and temporary bans come next, and permanent bans are reserved for serious harm or repeated behavior after earlier action.
- Only for written rules. Nobody is punished for a reason the rules do not cover.
- Authority matches rank. Moderators can only take the actions their level of seniority allows, and the most serious ones need senior sign-off.
- No personal conflicts. A moderator never acts against someone they are in a personal dispute with.
- Logged. Every action is recorded, and leadership reviews the record.
Threats of harm, doxxing, content that endangers children and coordinated attacks are escalated to studio leadership immediately, and reported to the platform and the authorities where appropriate.
6. Appeals
Anyone who believes a moderation or enforcement decision was wrong can appeal it through our appeals form.
- Appeals are reviewed by someone other than the person who made the original decision.
- The reviewer looks at the original evidence and the reasons given, as well as what the appeal says.
- If an appeal is upheld, the action is reversed and the reversal is recorded.
- Abusive or repeated bad-faith appeals can lead to the appeals form being closed to that person.
7. Privacy and data requests
We collect as little personal information as we can, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising. What we collect is described in our Privacy Policy.
- Anyone can ask for a copy of the data we hold about them through our data request form.
- Anyone can ask for their data to be erased through our erasure request form.
- We verify the person making a request before acting on it, and respond within 30 days.
- Parents and guardians can make requests on behalf of their child.
- Where the law requires us to keep something, such as records needed for safety or legal compliance, we say so rather than quietly ignoring the request.
8. Concerns about staff
Concerns about a member of staff, whether from inside the team or from a player or parent, are handled privately by HR and the founders.
- The concern is recorded in writing.
- Someone without a personal stake gathers the facts.
- The person involved is told what has been raised and given a chance to respond.
- A finding is made and recorded: confirmed, not confirmed or inconclusive.
- If a concern is confirmed, the response is proportionate, from a documented note to a formal warning to ending the engagement.
People who raise concerns in good faith are protected from retaliation, whatever the outcome.
9. Records and accountability
Administrative actions leave a trail: who changed what, when and why. Sensitive records such as HR reports, applications and privacy requests are visible only to the people whose role needs them. Studio leadership is accountable for the decisions in this handbook, and questions about any of them can be sent to support@lucky7entertainment.com.
10. About this handbook
This is the public edition of the Administrative Handbook. Staff can read an internal edition, which adds the tools, procedures and contacts behind each section, from their dashboard after signing in.
Where this handbook and your signed contract or agreement say different things, your contract or agreement is what applies. Pay, payment timing and the terms of your engagement are covered in your contract or agreement, not here.
We review the handbooks when the way we work changes. Each edition carries a version number and the date it was last updated, and a change in substance gets a new version.
Questions about anything in it can go to support@lucky7entertainment.com.
